Opportunities for socialising and activity.
Please contact the Community Team if you wish to attend EYECAN’s Social or Activity Clubs as membership requires Community Team referral.
There is no charge for Social and Activity Club attendance however donations are accepted twice yearly in March and September. Payment is required for raffle tickets or to purchase merchandise. Cash or debit card payments are accepted.
EYECAN’s Clubs offer members the chance to socialise whilst enjoying refreshments, lunch, and a range of activities. Many different activities are offered at Social Clubs, but the Activity Club specialises in art and craft and / or gardening.
Activity Club:
You don’t need to be artistic to enjoy being creative. Tuition is on hand if you want to experiment with different techniques, or just need encouragement.
If you would prefer gardening, join EYECAN’s green-fingered members outside in the gardens where you will be supported to grow vegetables in the raised beds and greenhouse.
Social Club:
Activities might include themed days (St Patrick’s Day, Bastille Day), talks or musical entertainment, exercise, playing games or just catching up with fellow members.
Outings:
Mondays are reserved for outings with a small group of clients. Trips have included Wetwheels and Helping Wings, also afternoon tea, and shopping outings at Garden Centres or charity shops.
Volunteer support:
EYECAN’s volunteers, who have all been DBS checked, provide support at the Clubs, and help with transport to and from Westlea Centre.
Transport:
If members are not able to make their own way to the Centre transport will be arranged for them
