Round up

  • Beavers Session: It was so great to have Beavers up at our centre recently. Our community team, led by Agnetta, taught them about sight loss conditions, and explained different types of equipment people living with sight loss use, which they were able to try themselves. They even had an introduction to Braille!
  • Legacy Week: The 8th of September marked Legacy Week, and EYECAN joined many other charities in raising awareness about the vital impact that gifts in Wills can have for charities across our community.  Leaving a donation to EYECAN in your will, no matter how small, can have a long-lasting impact to Islanders living with sight loss. If you’d like to consider us for a gift in your will, we’d be very grateful.  Please head over to our website for more information: https://eyecan.je/legacy-donations/

  • Pride of Jersey: EYECAN client, Eleanor McLachlan (17) was nominated for Ambassador of the Year in this year’s Pride of Jersey. A “remarkable young woman” who dedicates her time and uses her personal experience to raise awareness about sight loss was recognised for “inspiring young people with disabilities to be proud of who they are and confident of what they can achieve”.  Well done for your nomination, Eleanor!

  • 300 Club Winners: Congratulations to the winners of October’s 300 club draw. 1st Prize of £150 – No. 283, 2nd Prize of £75 – No. 77, 3rd Prize of £50 – No. 118. (Winners have been contacted).

Donations

Donations are vital to EYECAN’s ongoing ability to support islanders living with sight loss. Continued demand for our services and the rising cost of delivery means that sustainable fundraising is essential.

Every contribution helps us maintain and grow the free or low‑cost services that we provide to those who need them most. All donations stay on the island, directly benefiting our local community and enabling EYECAN to make a meaningful impact.

Thank you for your support. Please head over to our Donations page for donation options.
