August Round up

  • History Exhibition: Throughout August, we had our history exhibition up at the Link Gallery at the Jersey Museum.  We were very proud to showcase our history as the Jersey Blind Society, all the way up to modern day and our rebrand to EYECAN, and all the work we’ve done for Islanders living with sight loss in our 140 year history.

  • Heritage Club Visit: EYECAN’s first Heritage Club outing was a resounding success. Many thanks to Vincent Obbard, the Seigneur of Samares Manor for showing us around his home and explaining his family history to an enthralled audience. Everyone who attended had a lovely time.

  • Rifle Club Equipment Launch: We are absolutely thrilled to share that the launch of the Western Rifle Club’s new air rifles, which are adapted for users with sight loss to listen to audio feedback to locate the bullseye, was a huge success.  EYECAN was invited to the launch in partnership with the Rifle Club, and we were joined by a small number of our clients, who were the first on the island to try out this exciting new equipment. If you are interested in trying the new rifle club equipment, please get in touch with EYECAN or the Western Rifle Club.

  • 300 Club Winners: Congratulations to the winners of August’s 300 club draw. 1st Prize of £150 – No. 292, 2nd Prize of £75 – No. 56, 3rd Prize of £50 – No. 157. (Winners have been contacted).

Donations

Donations are vital to EYECAN’s ongoing ability to support islanders living with sight loss. Continued demand for our services and the rising cost of delivery means that sustainable fundraising is essential.

Every contribution helps us maintain and grow the free or low‑cost services that we provide to those who need them most. All donations stay on the island, directly benefiting our local community and enabling EYECAN to make a meaningful impact.

Thank you for your support. Please head over to our Donations page for donation options.
